Born in Gettysburg and raised in East Berlin, Pennsylvania, Derek Bush is a proud graduate of Bermudian Springs High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Shippensburg University’s John L. Grove College of Business, where he was an active member of the Accounting Club.
Before joining Cohick & Associates in 2018, Derek gained valuable experience in payroll and human resources with a firm in York, PA. Since then, he has built a strong foundation in tax preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll services. His commitment to professional growth led him to pursue and successfully pass all three parts of the Special Enrollment Examination, earning the prestigious designation of Enrolled Agent in the fall of 2024. He is also a proud member of the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP).
Derek is involved in his community and has served on the Board of Directors for Carlisle Meals on Wheels as Treasurer for over 3 years.
Outside the office, Derek is an aviation enthusiast who enjoys flying planes out of Carlisle Airport. He values time with family and friends, and loves to travel, hike, attend sporting events, and support the vibrant small business community in Carlisle.
