Born and raised in Carlisle, Chris Farrands is a graduate of Carlisle Area High School. Chris graduated from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Accounting. Prior to joining Cohick and Associates, he obtained several years of experience with an accounting firm in the Waynesboro area.
Chris is experienced in providing accounting and tax services to small and medium- sized businesses and not-for-profit organizations. He has extensive experience in individual and small business income tax preparation and tax planning. He is a Rotarian and Foundation Chair with the Carlisle Sunrise Rotary. He is the former President, Vice President, Campaign Co-chair and Treasurer of the board for the United Way of Cumberland County, as well as Past President, Treasurer and member of the Finance Committee for Partnership for Better Health. He is also the Past President of the Big Spring Kiwanis Club, and former Board President of Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity. Chris currently serves on the board of the Carlisle Family YMCA.
Chris enjoys spending time with his wife Mallory, their children (Beckett and Lyra), and their pets (an English Springer Spaniel named Hazel and two cats Holden and Pheobe). He enjoys boating, hiking, fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding, and attending automotive related events. He is a regular at the Carlisle Family YMCA and enjoys running (anything from a mile to a marathon). Chris also enjoys hobby farming with a small herd of cattle.
Chris was a recipient of the 2024 PICPA Young Leader Award.
